Birthday Cards for Shane

Ask:
This was in the news back in Feb, but goes on through May.
This little boy has cancer and he is celebrating his 8th birthday. He is asking for cards for his birthday. He is trying to break the world record for cards recieved. What a cute story. So send this little guy a birthday card to make his day.

It lists his address on the youtube video.

There are a few different videos and I just found some more info on him. He was diagnosed at age 5 and went into early remission. Doctors were surprised, but he still needed 130 weeks of treatment. He relapsed 103 weeks into treatment and will be celebrating his 8th bday soon. He wants to recieve cards from around the world for his bday.

I double checked on Snopes just to be sure he was STILL requesting them (there was a kid who had requested cards in the past and it caused a big problem for the family) . He is....I hope he gets his millions of cards.....I addressed one right after seeing the video...It's in the mail now!

Thanks for posting that!

I recently came across a heartwarming story of a young boy who has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Shane's birthday is May 30th and he has but one wish - to break the world record for the most birthday cards ever received. His goal is 350 MILLION cards! To date, he has received 125,000 + and is still a far cry from his goal. I am organizing a drive in my area -- and am inviting you all to participate as well - either through me or on your own. You can read Shane's story at . You may certainly contact me for the info on my drive or send a card or two directly to Shane. My thoughts are that I want to collect at least 500 cards, put them in a large box and send them off, wrapped in birthday wrapping paper from all the people who are pulling for him to get better and to reach his goal.
We're off to Church and Sunday school now. Make it a great day!
