**Every Friday we will feature a new Garden of the week. If you would like your areas featured please PM Missystuy with pics and a discription. It can be veggies, flowers or even your deck or house plants. This thread is meant to inspire and educate so enjoy!**
I was so impressed by Austin's raised beds, I asked it we could feature it. I'm so glad Austin agreed!!
I love my garden area. I have 4 raised boxes. They are each 4x4. I have one full of strawberries and the others are sectioned off into 1 ft squares. Giving me 16 squares per box. You can plant 16 carrots per 1 ft square or 1 head of lettuce. You really can get alot in a small space. I have my sectioned of with string.
(one of these days I will replace the wood boxes with some nice vinyl ones)
We just put in our garden and most of our yard just last year. So when we had the spinkling system done we had a water tap put in the garden area. I just put in the bark a couple weeks ago. I have ground cover in the aisles along with the bark and stepping stones. I don't have ground cover under the boxes. I wanted to give them plenty of rooting room.
The weeding is really easy too. It takes me less than 30 min to weed. The good thing about the box gardening is your not walking through the garden and disturbing the soil. I can do all my weeding from the sides just reaching in.
If you go by the sq foot gardening book there is a recipe for the soil. So much fertilizer and soil and vermiculite. I didn't do that last year when we got the garden ready, just because we were on budget. I just added some peat moss to the soil and grew things just fine.
I have plenty of room to get the things that I want. Tomatoes, peas, carrots, green beans, cumcumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, pumpkins, peppers & eggplant. Plus I have my box of strawberries.

Your garden looks so nice and neat. I love the way that the area is sectioned off within your yard. Please share pictures when it's in full swing - I would love to see more!
Great job!!
