I think it's intresting where siblings are born within a year of each other. I wonder, if they're usually close because of the age difference. I, personally don't know anyone who had a sibling born in the same calendar year, not including twins, triplets etc.

My brothers are twins and I was born on their first birthday. We weren't close growing up but I think that is mostly because my mom created a environment of competition for her affection. We were constantly competing to be mom's favorite. As adults, we are pretty close now.

yea...my dh and his younger brother is the same age for a few weeks....and he probably has 2 sisters that are the same age for a while....he is one on 10 children....lol

My Dh and his brother are 11.5 months apart. One is Nov 16 and the other is Oct 31. They are very different personalities, and growing up liked very different things. DH thinks that some of that may be because they are so close in age and needed to separate from each other. They get along really well (for the most part) now, but fought a lot growing up.

My boys are 6 days short of a year apart. They are currently 9 and 8. (I also have a 7 yr old who is 15 months younger than the 8 yr old!!!) It has been great for us! I have never thought it was hard and the boys always have someone to play with!

My dh and his brother are 12 months apart. They are not any closer than I am to my siblings..who are 2 and 4 years younger than me. I have two sets of kids who are 16 and 17 months apart...and while right now they ARE closer, I will be interested to see what happens as they age!

My dh and his brother are slightly over the one year mark (they were born 1 year and 4 days apart). Since they were the only two boys in the familly (there's an older sister), there was a lot of competition between them growing up. Being that dh's brother is older, the brother was somehow considered the "better" son by the parents and dh grew up having low self-esteem. It's definitely shaped the person he is today.
My dh and his brother haven't seen each other in 9 (or is it 10) years. They talk on the phone 3 or 4 times a year. The get along OK, but I wouldn't say that they're overly close.

HI my girls are 11 1/2 months apart Nov. 19 and Dec 6 so I have 2 the same age for awhile(they are 3 and 4 yrs old) on a side note they have a 16 yr old brother so I have a huge time span between the girls and their brother and wasted no time between the 2 girls! thanks Robin

I have 3 year old twins who have totally different personalities, but are very close. They love each other so much and are great playmates. They are boy/girl and I will say right now there is very little competition between them.

My 2 littlest ones are 9 days short of a year apart. I will be very interested to see if they are close. Right now even at 2 and 3 years old they have such different personalities and always have from the beginning.
