Ask:
I was just wondering what everyone is going to do this summer? How does having the children out of school change your life?
For us we are just going on as usually. 1 hour of ABA each morning and then farm chores and then play. There is a trip to Disney at the end of this month and then we start our summer. I have one respite person for the entire summer! Hopefully there will be a lot of horse riding, swimming and fishing.
Wishing everyone well, April
Answer:
I'm trying to find a way to have ds participate in some day camps and classes, but I'm having a hard time finding affordable ones. I wish there was some kind of funding to help out with camps and activities for SN children. So far I've found nothing. I just don't want him to be stagnant, you know? Or bored. And it's too hot here in the summer to be out much.
Answer:
So far we have one week of vacation bible school in June. We also have art camp at the local museum - two weeks in June (one before VBS and one after), one week in July and one week in August. Unfortunately, the week in August conflicts with the start of 1st grade.
DD looks forward to the county fair every year. I better save now for the ride tickets since she will finally be tall enough.
We'll do at least one trip to the coast for vacation. I don't know what our other vacation plans will be. We will probably go on a short camping trip with one of our volunteer groups.
I haven't signed DD up for weekly gymnastics classes yet. I need to get on that.
Other than that, lots of swimming and play dates.
How is your move coming along? Have you made any plans? I was reading about how Heber valley (I think that is right) is a great place to buy right now and I thought of you.
