Last night I was laying down in bed when I heard a painful moan outside my window. I peeked out the window and saw my neighbor was on the ground and couldn't get up. Dh and I got dressed and ran to help me. He had a stroke about 3 years ago so is out on the left side of his body. He still drinks as well and reeked of it. He was probably down for at least an hour--neighbor saw him pull in around 10:00.
He was disoriented, paranoid, and talking nonsense (his car was chemically castrated by his cell phone). We called 911 and talked him into cooperating and going to the hospital. He was trying to refuse. Hope he is ok.

My dad used to love to walk the dog very late at night. One evening he started to have a heart attack. He stopped at the closest house and rang their doorbell. Of course he had to wake them up and of course they were very suspicious of the strange man at their door. But they did end up calling 9-1-1 for him. They even took care of the dog until my brother could go pick her up.
My dad arrested in the ambulance but they were able to revive him. My dad had a by-pass and went on to live a few more years. Had the neighbors not called we would have lost him that evening.
BTW, not everyone who reeks of alcohol has been drinking alcohol. Untreated diabetics often smell that way and act drunk as well. Let's hope, whatever your neighbors problems, he gets the help he needs.

You got me. He is an alcoholic, uses cocaine, and is paranoid. He keeps saying someone is breaking into his house, hung wire hangers along his fence to block the FBI from reading his email, the list could go on. Strange things is he will talk nonsense then all of a sudden remember that my oldest was born in December 6 years ago. He made bad choices in his life and has pushed his family away. His son moved away so really he has no one. I feel sorry for him. I still haven't seen him yet, hope he is ok or at the very least gets the help he needs.
