garage salers are like sharks to chum!

Ask:
I am ha`ving a garage sale Thurs, Fri, and Sat. I opened up my garage this morning to get something out and within seconds I had people standing behind me going through my boxes and tables! In an hour, on a day that the sale isn't supposed to be open, I sold over $130 worth of junk and it didn't even make a dent!!!
Answer:

Congrats for making money on a day you weren't even "open" for the sale. Good luck in the next couple days.
Answer:

! Some people are quite serious about garage sales. The ad will state 8 am no early sales and people will be waiting at 7! Its crazy but good job!
Answer:

That is super!!! Hope the actual sale is as successful!
Answer:

I hope that ours goes that well this weekend! That's so exciting for you!!!!!!!!!
Answer:

The same has happened to me, it was the day of the sale. I was still setting stuff out and already people were going nuts. I hate having garage sales cause you have to deal with the cheap @sses that want something for pratically nothing. Sometimes I give in just to get rid of the crap.
Ever notice how stupidly people park their cars? I mean at that same sale I was having a car parked to close to another and instead of the guy coming out of his car to ask the person to move, he just put his car in reverse, hit the other car (lightly) and took off. What was funny is the person who owned the car didnt even notice the noise. No one even looked up, everyones faces were down on the grounds. I didnt even know whos car it was. Geez!
Answer:

a couple years ago my SIL and I had a sale at her house, it was scheduled to open at 8am. At 7:30 a woman rang my SIL's doorbell and asked her if she would open early . Apparently this lady was on her way to work but wanted to make sure she got the chance to check out something my SIL advertised. We told her no...geesh!
Answer:

People showed up a day early? A full day early? That is just crazy. A few weeks ago our community had a neighborhood yard sale and our next door neighbor put stuff out. We live on a cul-de-sac so I know there is not a whole lot of places to park unless you want to walk more than 30 feet , but you would not believe the number of people who blocked our driveway or actually parked in our actually driveway. I realize people want a good deal but sometimes they lose their manners along the way.

In your driveway? I'd have called for them to be towed off my property. How rude.

This has happened to us also. Our neighbors were having a garage sale & some idiot parked right in front of our driveway & we were getting ready to leave. DH had to go over there to tell them to move it or we were calling the cops!!

When we had a garage sale last year, we couldn't even get the garage door half way up before people were forcing their way in! Outrageous how some people can be so rude!
