Has anyone been to Universal Studios Orlando? My family is looking at going but I'm not sure my ds would enjoy it. My son is 5 years old. We done Disneyworld last year. I've even checked Universal's website but I'm still unsure about the age. Any input would be useful.

I live in Florida and we go to Universal all the time and I think that you maybe right, it might not be best for a 5 year old. Does he like to ride the rides? Is he a average size? A lot of them he may not be big enough for. They do have some great tours and stuff but not sure if that is something that he would like. Have you guys been to Seaworld? It is lots of fun and my kids favorite. ( they are 10, 7 and 2 ) and all of them love it. They do have rides and lots of shows that he would love. the good thing is that there are lots of chances to get wet and cool off. JMO hope this helps some.

We took our 6, 4 and 2 year old to Universal, but only because we had free tickets. The Universal Studios part was more fun for them then Islands of Adventure. They enjoyed the Curious George area, the Nickelodeon area, the ET ride, the Men in Black ride, and the Dr. Suess land area, but, honestly, unless you are getting free tickets like we did, I would not recommend it.
I would stick with Disney or Sea World at this age. JMO

I agree with the others. We have been there several times with our boys. My youngest, who is now 5, has never had very much fun there. He hates Suess Landing, which is designed for little ones (for some reason it really scares him). Many of the other attractions scare him also and he is generally not an easily scared child. He much prefers Disney. I have to say that my older son who is 13 loves Universal. I think it is a nice change from Disney, but it is definately geared for older kids.

We are in Florida too. And I would vote for Sea World too!! JMO But I love feeding the Sea Lions! I could stay right there all day....
Even Epcot would be better than Universal....just my opinion though!! Good Luck!
