Ask:
I was just outside with my four year old daughter and there was a strange bug. Anyway, after trying to get it to go away, I swear it was chasing me. I ran into the house screaming and left her outside. She was just standing there crying. I feel so bad. I can laugh about it now but I do feel bad...
Answer:
awww. Poor baby. I'm sure she was just confused and didn't understand what was going on.
Answer:
Ahhh the old bug dilemma -- save yourself or save your child? Just kidding. Don't be too hard on yourself. If it was an actual emergency like a pack of wolves or crazy carnies attacking, you would have grabbed your daughter and ran inside.
Bugs can freak out the best of us. I had a beetle on the front of my shirt the other day, panicked and flicked it off.....right onto the front of my daughter's shirt. She was fine. I felt like the worst mom ever too.

That reminds me a little of what happend to my oldest son (4 then) last summer. After I picked everyone up from preschool, we decided to make a quick trip through the drive thru at McDonalds for some apple dippers. Right after I ordered and moved up to pay, my son let out a blood curdling scream. I thought his little brother pinched him, hit him, something. I turn around to see what is wrong, and my 4-year old screams there's something in my shorts!!! I throw the car into park, get out, run around to his side. I kinda peek up the leg of his shorts, and there is some ugly grey-ish, creepy, crunchy thing! I am so not one for bugs. He's screaming still and there is no way I am reaching and grabbing this thing. So I yank him out of his chair, ripe his shorts off him and I am shaking them. So there he is standing in the drive thru, still screaming and at this time I am stomping on his shorts to make sure that if I didnt shake the bug out, that I am going to make sure it is squished. Finally, I put him back in the car (without his shorts on) and we go home. I must have looked like a raving lunatic to the people behind us in the drive thru!!!
