Has anyone put raw hamburger in the crock pot?

Ask:
I bought a bunch of hamburger on sale and I wanted to cook a bunch of it and freeze it so it's ready to go for quick meals. I don't like to cook! Can I just dump it in the crock pot and let it cook that way?
Answer:

Yep - just throw it in, add some seasoning if you choose, and cook away. I personally have never done it, but know many who have. I prefer to freeze my hamburger raw and then cook it. Another option would be to brown it in the microwave - much less time consuming.

Either way just make sure to stir it a couple times throughout the process.
Answer:

I just always browned mine on a pot on the stove. I have a very large spoon and stir it and cook it slow after it starts browning. I put it in a collander to get all the grease out. I put in in the frig. After it cools in the frig, I put it in packages for the freezer. I can't stand the taste of frozen hamburger. Plus I can put less than a pound in a package for a meal.
Answer:

My mom cooked a giant tube of super cheap fatty hamburger in the crockpot to make dog food with - all the fat drained off as it cooked and it turned out good.
Answer:

Honestly, just brown it in a skillet. Throw some water in it, it will take approx 15 minutes. Drain it, then freeze it if you want. Its really not hard to brown meat.
Answer:

If you don't like to cook crock pot is the easiest. If you need it done quickly fry it on the stove
Answer:

Sure you can. I've even made meatloaf in the crock pot.
Answer:

I went ahead and did it. I'll probably do it again just for the convenience of it; I now have 3 packs of taco meat in the freezer The only thing I didn't like is that it didn't crumble up really good. I had to spend some time breaking it up. I'll have to look for more crock-pot ideas to avoid cooking time.
