So we are watching tv and dh spots a red lazor light coming in through the window (the kind that look like a sight on a gun) Dh runs onto porch and spots the light coming from a window in a rental house up the street. He bangs on the door 4 times and no one answered till he announced very loudly "You have 2 seconds to open this door or I call the cops, and we all can discuss this outside". Teenager opens the door and denies doing anything. Dh says "Interesting. How do you know what I'm accusing you of.
He tells them to cut the crap, he saw the light coming from that window and not cool. Looks like the sight on a gun and is illegal in places. If they do it again we will call the cops. He also had some firmer language that I can't quote. Their dad never even came to the door (he is scared of dh) Then we heard their dad yelling at them.
Why do they sell these lights in the first place? There are stupid and do look like a gun sight. I was furious. Can't stand these neighbors anyway so this doesn't help. These are the "Grizwalds at Christmas time" who have a litter of children they let run free, live off the system ie your's and my tax dollars. They are the same group that sells the candy bars for the "Christian organization" that is their pocketbook because none of them work.

I don't know. I don't like those laser lights either. I've read that if you stare at the light too long, it can cause vision problems. Also, if you shine them up if a low plane is flying overhead, it can mess up the pilot's line of sight.
I'm sorry you're having to deal with lousy neighbors.
Answer:
I hate those things....When DS was a baby we were at my parents and I was taking him out of the car...The kid across the street aimed a laser light pen and it was right on DS face...I handed the baby over to my Dad and went over to the neighbors and BANGED on the door. I spoke to the father and he called the boys down and YELLED at the kids ("I TOLD you not to aim those at anyone, you were warned when your mother bought you that stupid thing , blah blah blah) and he broke it on the front steps right then and there.
I wouldn't hesitate to call the police next time it happens....how do you KNOW it really is a laser light pen next time??!
Answer:
I have seen them used as pointers in classrooms and during presentations when something is either projected or displayed on a wall. The speaker/teacher is able to stand/sit wherever he or she wants. I have also seen them used on crime scenes being investigated as a tool for police/CSI to point out something before walking into a scene.
I agree they are a nuisance, they have been selling them around here for years at carnivals and fairs. They have been banned in many areas so it's not as big of a problem as it used to be.
Answer:
Those things were so frigging popular about 10 years ago. Everybody and their dog had one. My friends and I used to play "laser tag" with them every weekend at the clubs.
Good on your husband for giving those kids hell. I hope their lease runs out soon and they move.
Answer:
I know a lot of places have banned them. My hubby has one for presentations. The club I bartend at uses green ones to alert other security of problems, they shine it to get attention, but not at faces.

I have one, it's the best little cat toy there is! The cats go nuts over it! Sorry for your bad experience though, I had never thought of them being abused like that. The one I have is actually one of those laser levelers (it came with my Hercules Hooks), it's good exercise for the cats

How did you guess I can't stand people who abuse the system when they are perfectly capable of working. Develop a work ethic or stop taking money that could be going to people who really can't work. And to tell people you are selling candy for a Christian organization that doesn't really exist makes you pitiful. He is verbally and physically abusive to his children. DHS frequently checks on them and yes I've called the police when I've heard the abuse. If I can hear you hitting your kid 2 houses down then I think you are lower than pond scum. Last week he was calling 3 of his 6 boys "worthless fu#@ing pieces of sh%t" out in his front yard. Dh told him to look in the mirror before calling others names. He stopped swearing at them when the younger neighbor kids are out. Dh informed him that his girls weren't going to learn that language from him.
It's so sad because his kids will have such a long road ahead of them. Those kids should have been asleep in bed on a school night, not aiming a red lazor light at my head and my dh's chest at 11:15 at night.
