Ask:
I have a little bit of gift money sitting here. It's $70. I am just not sure what to do with it. Here are my options (although maybe I haven't thought of something):
1. Put it toward our debt.
(I really, really don't want to do that. I have always said that gift money is different than earned money. But maybe that's the responsible thing???)
2. Put it in savings.
(Not what I want to do. I am being selfish, thinking that I want to buy something. But again, would putting it in savings be the responsible thing to do?)
3. Buy something for our home.
(We do need a new toilet seat and a light fixture in the second bathroom. And there is a welcome mat that I've wanted for months.)
4. Buy something for my dh.
(Not sure what, but that would be a nice idea.)
5. Buy something for myself. (I would love to indulge in a pair of Crocs. We will be near a mall tomorrow, so I could try them on to see what size I would need. Then, I could go on eBay or ask around here for a discount code or sale somewhere.)
6. ?????
What do you suggest I do?? I'm really not sure!! Thanks!!
Answer:
Crocs are only 30$ at Macys!
Answer:
They're only $8 for the knock off's at Walmart, and they're comfy. Why don't you divide it? Put $20 in savings, $20 for debt, and $30 for you to do whatever.
Answer:
If it was a gift I'm guessing it was meant to be spent on YOU! How often to you get to treat yourself without feeling guilty? Totally SPLURGE!!! Have fun!

Ditto to that!
I've seen Crocs from 25-30 lately and you'd still have some left for some of what you want around the house! Enjoy it and DON'T feel guilty--it was a gift for you!

If it was a gift- I would use most of it to treat yourself! You have been working really hard at all of your 3 jobs- you have this little bit of money- treat yourself- even if you only buy yourself a pair of crocs and put the rest towards debt. You deserve to get something special for yourself once in awhile- it makes it a little bit easier with our money being tight with all the extra going towards paying off your debts. If you want to do something for your hubby with it- maybe the both of you can go out for a movie and a cheap dinner (or maybe something else)- it will get you out of the house- out of work and be able to spend some quality time with each other.

Get the Crocs!! They're awesome! I would buy the 'real thing' though.. they're the best! You could always go to a movie or something with dh too!

If it was a gift for you then you should spend it on something for yourself or buy something you need in the house.
Answer:
I think you should be the bestest most special toilet seat EVAH!
Answer:
*votes for the toilet seat and welcome mat* cause those seem to me to be a good balance of 'need and want' ..
