Ask:
are you able to control yourselves at your kids events??? I was at soccer this morning and I was getting frustrated because my son is just too polite! He refuses to take the ball away from anyone. Then I was so nervous when they put my son (the littlest one on the team!) as goalie!!! Ugh!! To much stress for this old woman!!! I have to keep reminding myself that they are only 7 & 8 yrs old

Dh was going alittle crazy when dd started basketball. She would be out there talking to opponents, twirling her hair, etc. He is very competivite, and I had to tell him to chill. She was 5 at the time, what do you expect He is doing better since she is on an all girl's team. It's an atmosphere where the parents yell out what to do to help the coaches out, so I'll be yelling pass it or shoot it but it's in a fun way not an overbearing or bossy way.
There are times I want to pull my hair out though. I stop myself so it stays fun for her.

It is hard to keep your cool. My ds was also very timid when he started soccer and I would tell him to get in there and do what he had to to get the ball. After I thought about what I had said to him and the fact that he was playing CAA (CHRISTIAN Athletic Assoc,) soccer, I backed off.

I will tell you that I know first hand how bad parents and coaches can get. Last Tuesday at my softball game ( I coach my dds team ) myself and another coach had to break up a fight between a parent and an umpire. he was escorted from the park and is now banned! You should always remeber this is their game and not yours, if they want to talk and socialize with the other team that is thier choice. They will learn soon enough the real world of sports and how competitive it can be.
Answer:
The only thing that bugs me when ds6 plays soccer is he thinks about it too much instead of just kicking it like all the others then it gets swept up from the swarm of kids. Today dh just told to not think so much and just kick it well ds almost cried so we have agreed just to let it go and be positive. Yes he is also one of those polite players! We dont have goalies but he will move up in the age bracket next fall. Maybe then they will start realizing more about spreading out and passing and all that jazz.

Oh my goodness last year when Riley was on his first sports team ever (soccer) i could hardly contain myself. I was just so excited. Our entire team were known for cheering.
I did finally realize that maybe i was just a little too excited and held back a little.
