Ask:
Do we include money we spend when we eat out or if we buy something at work for lunch or snack? I am so excited about this.
Answer:
I was going to count if I ate out for lunch or bought a coffee at work. It's up to you if you want to count eating out as part of the weekly challenge. I told dh about this challenge and told him no eating out this week because we did last week, but that's just my plan.
Answer:
Me too. I was going to count anything anyone in the family eats, but not cleaning supplies, toilet paper or other non edibles.
Answer:
See I count anything I buy at the grocery store as groceries. When I do our weekly shopping I get $40 cash back and thats our whole dining out budget. It helps us not over spend. Considering I get most non-edibles on my monthly costco trip.
Answer:
That is a good idea about having only so much money a week to eat out on. And $40.00 is probably a good amount. I might try that.
Answer:
Yeah That what I figure with the $40. We are regulars at a local coffee house. Its actually a family event we go get our coffee and hang out for 2 hours with my knitting group. Then we spend the rest on either going someplace nicer or going to a few cheeper places. So like this week it went toward coffee, lunch at the mall for me, dominos and arbys. Last week it was just coffee and chinese and this next week it will go toward my mommy's night out, coffee and desert at a book club meeting and something on mothers day. It seams to work when we don't have several events come up.
Answer:
Good idea to have a set amount of money - we've just been trying not to eat out at all, but since I know we'll be going out this week, I think I'll just set it at $25 a week - that will be plenty.
