MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the here members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the following week. What are your kids’ names? Son, Jesse(5 1/2) Dog, Emily(almost 6)
Were you ready for motherhood? Yes!!!! I was 33 when I had ds, I was more than ready!!
Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you? Well, my Grandparents(both sides) and Parents were all very good examples of "good people" and so I guess they all inspired me to be a good person too, I do try to live my life and raise my son in a way that not only would they approve of but that would also make them all very proud!
Do you have any nervous habits? What are they? Yes, I crack my knuckles and I scratch at my fingertips w/ my fingernails, yes, strange, lol!!
Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him? I'm sure I did, and yes they were!!
What do you want your kids to remember the most about you? I want him to remember that I was a caring and wonderful mother that loved him and gave him the gift of my Time, I hope that he has many fond memory's of his crazy mother!!
What did you learn the most from your mother? Well, of course she taught me the basics of cooking, cleaning, responsibility, & how to behave, but she also taught me how to be a good Mom!
How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip? I use about 10-15 a month, I use store brands if I can and I do shop at a discount grocery store (Marc's) And I always make a list w/an estimated price next to each item, and then I try to stick to the list. I also have wonderful luck at a local Consignment shop, I've made $$ and found some great stuff there, for next to nothing!!
How did you find here? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here? I think I read about KIM in a magazine, like Woman's World?? I'm not sure, But I did visit the web site a buncha times, then I lurked on the forums for a while, and once I jumped in, I was hooked!! I haven't referred anyone here, this place is my little secret!!
Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice? I really enjoy hearing all of the different opinions from all the MS members, some I agree with, some not, but I think it shows that we are a wonderfully diverse group of people, and that's why I like it here!!
Have you ever met a mommysaver? No, but I'd like to someday!
What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you? Well, he's not very romantic, but I know that he is always 'there' for me if I need him.
Tell us five things you like about yourself. Oh My!! I'm friendly, I'll talk to anybody, pretty much. I'm kinda funny, I like making jokes(I was voted Class Clown in HS) I like to be helpful, if I can. And I'm frugal.
What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work? I'm not much of a crafter, so my hobbies are collecting things, the main things I collect are Elvis Memorabilia and Shot Glasses, Yes, I do have a "Black Velvet Painting of Elvis" and I have around 200 shot glasses, from all over the world, my goal is to get one from every state in the US, I think I'm about 1/2 way there!!
How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait? Several & Yes!
What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert? I Love Country and Rock & Roll, BonJovi is my favorite, and I've seen them in concert almost every time they've come to Cleveland since 1987(I even went when I was 7 mo. PG w/ds lol!!) And my favorite country singer is Toby Keith, I haven't seen him yet, but hope to this year when he comes around.
List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world? I would like to live long enough to have Grandkids and get to enjoy having them. I'd also love to do some more traveling.
Which room in your house best reflects your personality? Living Room, all our family pictures are in there.
What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose? My son is much like my dh, so I figure he'll be some sort of mechanic/truck driver/farmer. He say's he want to be a race car driver!! Yikes!!
Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!) Well, I'm pretty much an open book, so most of my friends and family know a lot about me, but I'll tell you all some of my strange quirks, I wash my hands a lot, and am always worried about how I smell, I'd hate to stink anyone out, lol!! I also am a little bit afraid of the dark, and I hate to drive(I do it, but I hate it) I'm such a freak, lol!!!
Are there words you live by? What are they? "don't believe everything you think" & I believe in Karma, "Do good things and good things happen" just like they say on the TV show "Earl"

Bonnie, it is so great getting to know more about you! If you get the chance to..PLEASE go see Toby...I have seen him many times and he puts on an awesome show! After all, if we're sharing him...shouldn't you have at least seen him in concert once
