Could I belong here

Ask:
Im a Little worried about posting here after what happen on another board a few years ago. When DH was Deployed I went looking for some others to talk to , well I found a not so happy place , according to them I didnt belong there Why? because DH is in the Guard .. Even though he was deployed in the middle of Iraq , these ladies still told me right out I wasnt a military wife.

Anyways , DH is a Sgt. In the National Guard. He has been in for 6 Years and just sign another 6 years. He was deployed in 2003 for 18 Months . He spent 6 Months in the states and the rest in the sandbox. He was sent out with in a week after nathan was Born and it was rough on us all. There are Rumors of another deployment coming up with in this year. I just keep Praying it doesnt happen , But I know if he has to go its so someone eles husband and daddy can come home so that makes it a little earier.

I keep all of the military familys in my thoughts and Prayers .
Answer:

Guard, Reserves, retired and active duty are all the same in my eyes. Your husband still sacrifices, he still fights for us to be free and he still has to leave his family to protect us all. YES, you belong here. It doesn't matter if he does it 2 weeks a year, or 12 months a year, you are still a military wife, and you sacrifice just like the rest of us do.
Answer:

I agree with southern_belle_mommie - one thing I have always loved about this board is how accepting it is of all its members... as long as you treat others with respect and kindness everyones input is welcome.
Answer:

my husband is now a sgt in the guard, but he is active duty national guard... if that makes sense. he works 6 days a week doing funerals for veterans. he used to be a recruiter for them... he was in iraq also for 18 months, and has done MANY other deployments.

SO, YOU DO BELONG HERE
Answer:

You are absolutely welcome here and you are every bit a military family member as any one of us. To be honest, the guard and the reserves are playing a VERY active role in the war on terror so to not include you all would be completely hypocritical of us.

We are all affected by what our men and women in uniform do. It doesn't matter the color of the uniform, it matters what sacrifices they make, we make and the dedication and honor behind their service. YOU ARE MOST CERTAINLY WELCOME HERE.

You can vent, rant, rave, boast, cry, cheer with all of us. That's what we are here for....oh and go and tell all your friends and their friends!!!

((HUGS))
Answer:

My dh is not even IN the Air Force anymore, but he is still a veteran!! I also grew up in the military...Air Force dad...and have a brother AND bil in the army...one IN Iraq, one on the way to Iraq. I would "not belong" more than you...and you better believe I belong here, too!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, in my eyes, anyone who supports our troops is a part of our military family...we pray over them, we cry for our losses, and we celebrate our victories and home comings. I am PROUD to be a member of THIS family.
Answer:

You belong! Welcome!!
Answer:

You definately belong!!! FOR SURE! We are all glad to have you. I went through a similar situation with a different military spouses board, adn my hubby was active duty at the time, they just wanted to argue about who was doing more.....blah blah blah. These ladies are amazing, and I am sure that you will love it here!!

Whoever serves in whatever capacity still serves and deserves the respect and admiration of all of us.
