Any good tips for...

Ask:
getting through a vacation that has a three hour time change with baby in tow??

We are heading out to visit my Dad and Step-Mom in California (Lake Tahoe) at the end of May. I am very anxious about the time change; THREE HOURS.

Daylight savings was hard enough.....

Any good tips??
Answer:

Try to keep them on the same schedule as possible. Being that your going back in time this might be really hard. When we do this with our kids it's going forward which is much easier, good luck.
Answer:

Traveling gets the kids tired, plus all the excitement will have them ready for bed. The mountain air will also give them energy so they can wear themselves out. I was concerned when ds was little, but it turned out well. And I agree; keep them on the same, or similar schedule. Be sure to take toys, crayons, etc. to keep baby busy, along w/normal snacks. Traveling can be havoc on the little tummies, so keeping the food schedule and the type of food the same will help. Except for needing breaks and diaper changes, it's not too bad. Just a lot more to carry!
Answer:

I've never gone three hours over - only two, but we just kept the same schedule. The good part is that you won't have to eat at busy restaurant time. Whether you are going to be 3 ahead or 3 behind, you could go to restaurants at an easier time. One vacation we were at all the restaurants at 5 on the dot and the first ones served. The restaurant was pretty empty. It will cause your relatives to be off their schedules, but its a lot easier for grownups to eat at weird times than little ones.

Have fun!!!
