What cat litter?

Ask:
I am on the hunt for a better cat litter. I have tried fresh step, Walmart brand, and world's best formt eh pet store. I hate them all. The World's best raved about, but it is the worst at contolling odor and costs the most!
Any suggestions?
Answer:

We've used arm & hammer for years.
Answer:

We use Tidy Cat. We have two cats and 4 litter boxes...I scoop daily. Sometimes twice daily. I don't notice any odor but my litter boxes are in a room in the basement and I also have a window in the room where the boxes are, that I open daily for a dose of 'fresh air'.
Answer:

We used Scoop Away for years. My only beef is I could no longer find the unscented one and the scent stayed on the fur, and I feel it irritated my Persian's eyes.

Some have said to stay away from the pine ones, as the oils in it are not good for the cats.
Answer:

We use Feline Pine for our litter-tray trained bunny. Trust me, a bunny's urine and poop is far worse in the smell department than any cat! The bunny is in the living room so we have to have something that controls odor. The Feline Pine pellets are the only thing that work.
Answer:

We use Tidy Cat crystals. Have to change it out about once a month plus I scoop daily. I used the Walmart brand of crystals and thought it worked fine for about half the price. Good luck. Nothing stinks worse the cat urine (well maybe rotten eggs)

Hey this post makes me a Goddess!
Answer:

we use tidy cat small spaces...it seems to make the pee clump better in order to clean better. i have three littler boxes and i thinks its the best...ive tried all kinds too. a bit more expensive, but worth it.
Answer:

I find only Scoop Away best clumps the urine for our cat. I've tried Tidy Cat which I feel is the worst, Walmart brand, grocery store brand, they just don't clump well enough for me! I agree with the Scoop Away, I can tell when the cat has been in the box as he does smell like the litter (the clean litter!).
Answer:

I will never go back to the un-scoopable kind. (I know un-scoopable probably isn't a real word! ) I have always used Tidy Cats, but this month we tried the REALLY cheap kind at Walmart. It's called Special Kitty. I am so impressed at how well it clumps. I am tempted to say that it clumps even better than Tidy Cats. With Special Kitty, we get clumps that don't crumble, which is what was happening when we used Tidy Cat. Besides, this Special Kitty kind is MUCH, MUCH cheaper than Tidy Cats. I think we're going to stick with this for a while.

ETA: It doesn't have a fancy plastic container. It comes in a box, with a plastic bag. That's it. Nothing fancy. I just put a plastic cup in the bag, and scoop out a bit to add to the litter every day.
Answer:

I used Target's brand of cat litter for years (the actual name escapes me currently ) and never had any issues. It clumped nicely, controlled the smell and was priced pretty competitively. I have to say I wasn't the best at scooping (maybe every other/every 3rd day) and with our one cat - we never had any icky smell. The litter box was kept on the main floor in our laundry room, door open, pretty much right next to the main family room.

Good Luck finding something that works for you!
