Ask:
Okay, so I know this is kind of random, but thought maybe someone out there might know.
We are planning to go the Virgin Music Festival this August in Baltimore and I was wondering where to stay. Does anyone know of any nice but not expensive hotel near a metro stop in Baltimore?
We usually stay at the Radisson Lord Baltimore when we go to Orioles games, but we don't really need to be near the inner harbor or anything - just the metro - since we will just need somewhere to crash. Any suggestions would be great! I've searched (google and ask) and no hotels really state how far from a metro stop they are.
Answer:
Where is the festival? I don't know if I can be any help about hotels, but if you do find something, I might be able to tell you whether the area is OK or not.

Answer:
I didn't even know the metro ran out to Baltimore. Who knew?
If you go to hotels.com and bring up all the hotels in the Baltimore area, you can go into each one and check under Map & Attractions. It will list what is close by etc... Hope that helps a little.
Answer:
I have been to hotels.com. It didn't really list the metro, at least on the ones I looked at. I will check again, maybe I was on the wrong tab. I think this is the Baltimore metro. I think it is only 15 miles and don't think it connects to the one in DC.
The festival is at Pimlico Racetrack and there will be a shuttle from the Roger Ave Metro station to the track.
Answer:
Katie,
Pimlico is NOT a good area. There is a metro station not too far from it, but I would not be staying in any hotels near buy.
PM me if you would like to ask more questions.

Answer:
I just went to the website. If you click "info", there will be another option "staying there" click on that and it will give you listings of several hotels (luxury, standard and budget). It also list the metro stop as well.
Hope this helps.
Answer:
The Baltimore "metro" is actually called the light rail and is separate from the DC metro system - not sure if that will make a difference in your searching. Sorry, I can't help with hotels though.
Answer:
I live in Baltimore county and the area with hotels closest to Pimlico and safe would be The Village of Cross Keys. I believe there is a Radisson and the Cross Keys Inn there. I don't think there is a Light Rail out of Cross Keys but it is close enough to the Pimlico racetrack that if you have to take a cab it won't break the bank. Surprisingly Baltimore does not have a good public transportation system and sometimes these light rail trains don't connect with each other.
