Thanks!!

Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes. That was CO COOL!

I've had a strange birthday. I came home about 1:00 from work. We have a lot of flooding around. (Since Friday night, we have gotten just under 10 inches of rain! ) Well, my dh's school (which is in the town we live) closed down at 9:15 this morning, due to flooded roads. There was a rumor that the road from my school to my town was going to close down this afternoon. If that happened, I would not have been able to get home. The secretary even called the county sheriffs (from both counties) to see if they knew that this road was going to be closed. The thing is: they would be notified AFTER the road is closed, not before. The Department of Transportation told us the same thing - they could tell us what was CURRENTLY closed. I don't understand that, but whatever! So, after talking with my principal and weighing the options, I decided to come home early. I love my job, but I really didn't want to sleep on my classroom floor tonight!!

We're watching crappy daytime TV. What a luxury! We've had Greg Behrendt (sp?) and The People's Court on. What wonderfully TERRIBLE shows! Soon I get to decide if we'll watch Ellen or Dr. Phil. This is so fun! (I am so easily entertained! )

Dh baked me a cake this afternoon and has done laundry. What a sweetie. He also was out driving the roads several times today, to make sure it was going to be safe for me to come home.

We're not sure what is going to happen tomorrow. Odds are good that dh won't have school, and it'll be interesting to see if I can make it to school tomorrow.

Thanks again, guys. You really brightened my day!!! THANKS!

Answer:

Please pray that we both get to go to work tomorrow!!! NOBODY (teachers, kids, or parents!) wants to miss a day of school now. As it stands, I will only have 4 days of "vacation" before summer school starts.
