Ask:
Strange title for the post I know...I mean "HOW", you're probably thinking, oh c'mon you're kidding right?
But what I mean by how is this...Do you clean by the room ,or by the task?
Do you tackle it room by room...Say to yourself, now I'm going to do the kitchen, and then only focus on that room. Or do you break it up by chores? Like saying, now I'm going to dust and you dust each room, regardless of what else needs to be done, you're just going through the rooms dusting.
Answer:
I go room by room. It works best for me, and I get a quicker feeling of accomplishment as I finish each room!
Answer:
I have a chart for each room/area in my computer...it lists things I do daily, monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly.
Sometimes I do all my cleaning in one day and sometimes I do different things on different days, so at the end of the week it's all done, just not all on the same day. It just depends on what I have going on.
I do pick up every day, each room and I don't consider that 'cleaning'...that's just daily maintenance to me. Cleaning is dusting, vacuuming, mopping, washing the windows, wiping down the woodwork etc
Answer:
I seriously come up with new systems everyday. Anything from rolling a 20 sided dice and working on that room for what ever number I roll minutes to speed cleaning (10 min on each room). Though what works the best is 30 min on each room with a 10 min break between and keep going through the house until its done. I throw knitting in as a break because I can knit for a set time then stop or do a set number of stitches.
I to have a spread sheet of what I need to do and when I need to to it oh and how far overdo it is.
Answer:
For me I have a schedule. It works for me. I'm very picky about our bathroom. It has to be clean. That's why sometimes that's the only part of our house that's clean. I keep it lock and close that way DH doesn't go there and destroy everything.
Answer:
Each task separately.
Most of my time is spent just straightening up - moving the clutter that accumulates on the floors and every other flat surface to its rightful location.
After that I do different tasks. In order of importance ...
laundry
dishes
vacuuming
dusting
bathrooms
I tend to do the main floor first and leave the basement (family room, laundry room, my office, a second play area and one other bathroom) for later.
