We live in Germany for almost 4 yrs now and our housing here are ugly and our number one problem is the mold in our bathroom. I tried getting rid of it numerous time but it keeps coming back. We don't have a window just a small fan. I told our housing here and the lady I spoke to told me to use bleach. It goes away for about a week then it comes back. I started to develop allergies and so is my son. Any suggestions how to get rid of molds other than bleach?

Where is it growing specifically? I would make sure to clean it weekly with bleach...is there a reason you don't want to use bleach? I would also dry the area where it grows each time someone takes a bath/shower and run a fan constantly to keep the area ventilated. Can you get a free standing fan to use as opposed to the bathroom vent fan? As well as try to open windows in other areas of the house near the bathroom to ventilate and release moisture in the air to the outside.

Since I'm pregnant my husband is doing the cleaning with bleach.The mold is mainly on the ceiling. We try having a standing fan in the bathroom but its just doesn't work. WE try cleaning the bathroom everyday every window in the house are open I guess the housing is really old. I've been told by many who used to live in our housing area that before someone new move in they just paint over the old paint. I guess it means they are also painting over the mold. Right now we have been cleaning it with bleach.

I know they came into our old housing and ripped everything out and bleached it then rebuilt it all.

Unfortunatly I think they have to replace the dry wall to get rid of it totaly.

HAve you tried contacting housing? We recently moved back from Germany and this was totally unacceptable in our housing. I know of a few families that complainedof this and also had allergies. This problem was fixed immediately.
