Do you have or know someone who has a carpet cleaner? You could suck up the water with that. I think you probably could even rent one for cheaper than it would be to get it done professionally. I've seen the rugdoctor things at Walmart. As long as it had a hose you could maneuver, it would work. Sorry this happened! Sounds like something I would do though!

A wet dry vac would work. I keep one in the garage and a small one (1 gallon) in the house for spills ... best thing to clean spills on a rug.
