Do you live with "quirky" people?????

Ask:
Does anyone else live w/ "quirky" people?

Sometimes I think these people are crazy or maybe I am....

My son has clothing issues (among others). Do you remember the episode of Friends where Joey puts on all of Chandlers cloths? He does this. The other day he put on 4 shirts and a zipper sweatshirt! I just went to sort the laundy and found 3 pairs of sweatpants that he wore all at once. He groups things by label too. He will put on every Old Navy piece of clothing he has, whether they match or not, he even found a key chain w/ Old Navy on it the other day and put it on his zipper pull. To many shirts that day too. This is becoming a laundry nightmare

Dh works at a professional job. He will think nothing of putting on a shirt w/ wrinkles on it. If I mention it or ask him to let me fix it, he gets mad and tells me "It will straighten out" Ummm no it won't and he looks like he just jumped out of the hamper! ugh

My little guy has decided that he doesn't like most foods. He wants to eat ramon noodles or peanut butter and jelly. Well, no! I am a nutrition freak, this isn't gonna fly. But most irritating after I spent a long time making a nice meal!

My dog...he's perfect!

I am the quirky person in this family! My goal on most days is to do my best to try and act normal.

I seriously must drive them crazy some days.
Answer:

Yup I am the quirky one here.. I sort things compulsivly, and organize our house daily .. I seem to have what I think is mild OCD, about having our house clean.. And have this thing, where everything has to be shut before we got to bed.. I just noticed it last night, !!! , I have to shut our plantation shutters all of them, then all the doors in the house, ie bathroom, extra rooms, basemennt door.. .. Then I close our bedroom door and lock it. lol.. Our son sleeps in our bed at night... So we are all in our room.. Not sure why I do this??? Never had anything happen, I just do it.. .. I'm weird!!!

The biggest issue with my daughter is her clothing. She will only wear dresses or skorts. For awhile I had a hard time getting her out of her night gown. She changes clothing if it gets a speck of dirt on it. She also generates a lot of laundry.
Her other issues is that she will only eat a handful of items. Her only fruits are applesauce, serving of grape juice, apples. She will rarely eat any vegetables.

My thing is being a neat and germ freak. It drives me insane if someone wears their outside shoes in the house. Those things were in a public bathroom at some point.

My youngest is still on the bottle at 18 months and refuses to drink anything out of a cup.

I too have to have a clean, organized home. All of the laundry is done right when I get home on Fridays (I have to take it to out apartments laundry room) I hate it, wish I had a washer and dryer in my unit! I cant stand clutter or seeing a mess - I take care of it right then and there. Guess its a good thing Im at work all day to be away from it. dh tells me to relax and dont worry about it, so I ask him if I dont worry about it, it wont get clean / picked up.
Son's socks has to be on right or he gets all pissed. He's been good about it lately, probably cause I got him some good socks. His food of choice is Mac & Cheese, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn dogs, top ramen, a plain jelly sandwich. He's pretty picky on what he eats. I have to tell him that by eating meat such as steak or burgers that it will grow hair on his chest. So he eats it and then lifts up his shirt to check.

OH, my........I was laughing about this one! Our husbands must hang out at the water cooler together and count the wrinkles in their shirts. My Hubby thinks that if you just throw it in the dryer for a few minutes it will "straighten out". NOT THE CASE!

I consider my husband quirky.....

He only wears sweat pants. He'll wear nice jeans or slacks to church but that is it. He won't even wear shorts in our 110 degree weather.

He has some OCD issues.....he must check the doors and stove top for 10 minutes every night. I haven't timed him but i have yelled out "Everything is fine go to bed". He also takes a long long time brushing his teeth.

These are just a few things i deal with.

Riley has some quirks....Like not liking the intro to DVDs......he's gotten better but when the Universal logo would come on the screen with that loud music he would run out of the room screaming. He is also terrified of Disney Land. He's 6.5 and we haven't been able to go yet because he already says he refuses to go on the rides. Crazy!!!!

DH defintely has some quirks.

Whenever he brings home supplies to start a project, he must start immediately. Some examples: we went to Home Depot (his home away from home ) to get a new door knob for the pantry. He gets out of the car, goes into the house and starts working on the pantry. I am still unloading Riley from her seat and he's already got the old door knob off.

Another Home Depot story, we go out to eat dinner and stop off for air filters. We get home about 9:30. Guess what immediately has to be done? Yep. Drag in the ladder and change all four filters.

I realize that having a DH who does projects might sound wonderful, and really it is, but it is just a little wacky that they must be done immediately from start to finish.
Answer:

Well, things I learned from my DH:
1. There is a "right sock" and a "left sock".
2. It is possible to eat the exactly same thing for breakfast 365 days a year.
3. If you are throwing away a container, you have to throw it away with it's lid, so they can be "together". Also applies to anything that has one or more "part" to it.
and many many more...
Some would consider that quirky, but I consider that adorable (must be that whole "I am in love" thing)

I loved your post! I am the same!

But I'm so curious ... what does your dh have for breakfast 365?
(Mine is whole wheat toast. I just love my toast!)
