How do you handle...

Ask:
transporation??

Do you have a neutral meeting place? Does your ex do all of the droping off/picking up? Or do you do all of the driving?
Answer:

We live about 90 miles a part, so we meet half way, at a mcdonalds parking lot. It works out well bc it's a safe place and if anyone is hungry, thirsty or has to use the restroom, we can take care of it right there.

Sometimes we drive ds the whole way to his dad's, but usually my ex will pay for transportation if that is the case. He has never once driven out here.

Answer:

My daughter got her permit right after her dad left so she did all the driving. I ended up paying for gas most of the time (which really irritated me but I never complained.)

Recently a mother was shot and killed by her ex-husband on Easter at the gas station where they used to exchange the kids. Her mother was there, he was supposed to bring the kids but didn't so at least they didn't have to see it. As a result a local politician is proposing the county government estbalish a neutral meeting place for estranged couples to exchange kids - staffed with people who can facilitate the exchange and provide security. I think it's a great idea... too bad it took a tragic death to bring it about.
Answer:

my ex picks my kids up at my house or my mom's, whichever they are at. I don't ever pick them up or drop off unless we need them during the weekend that is the others.
