Ask:
MN mommy2: You mentioned in your post about who diagnoses that your child has Adaptive Phys Ed. My son's phys ed teacher knows some of his challenges, but I've received no word on adaptations and he has had some problems when a substitute teacher takes that class.
Would you please give me information on what you know about this? I think I need it to be added to his IEP. Thank you.
Answer:
Skyler started APE about a month and a half ago. Coach approached us and asked if he could do some testing with Skyler. I wish I could remember what they were called but unfortunately I do not. I will look through our papers though and see if I can find anything. He was having difficulties with throwing, catching, hitting a ball, running... lots of things. They did the testing and he now receives an extra 30 minutes of APE. Its a smalelr group of kids and they work on those skills and more. Skyler absolutely loves it
