Ask:
We have the 19 month old granddd here and I can't get anything done! Shes like a tornado! There is food every0where toys, shes into everything! Yes and dhes helping me type r0ight now
.
Answer:
Actually I have just started cleaning, the bathrooms upstairs are done and I just finished the powder room. My 5yr old loves to help me mop so after the kids pick up their toys and I vacuum he will help me mop. They both love helping me and want to do everything I do so normally I give them each a Swiffer duster and let them go at it! They really aren't doing much but they think they are! And right now they are both sitting at the kitchen table each eating a bowl of Dibs ice creams so that's keeping them pretty quiet, for the moment. I used to get so irritated, trying to get all the cleaning done at once or perfectally and then realized with just letting them "help" as much as possible it lets me concentrate on getting the real cleaning done, without me worrying they are trying to get into the cleaners and things they shouldn't be near. I also have a clean, unused sponge for each of them that I get a little damp when I clean and let them "clean" the walls, floors etc.
Answer:
Well, if you ever saw my house you would not ask My house is never clean!!!
Answer:
Ok. Leaving them alone in the kitchen while I posted a quick post back fired! The little one just dumped a whole glass of his brother's ice water all over him! So now I get to clean up him and the floor, again. At least it was just water!

I have a 17 mos. old and a 4 yr old. Here's what I do:
First I make a to do list the night before, so when the opportunity arrives for me to get something done I don't have to think about it.
*while they are eating a meal or a snack and the baby is confined to the highchair, I sweep, start a load of clothes. prep dinner so I just have to cook it later. and whatever else I have time to do.
*I have the playpen in my bedroom and at 9 a.m Sesame street is on and the baby will watch it from the playpen and ds from my bed as I get ready.
*at naptime, (she's down to one, but it's a good 2 hrs.) I'll mop the floor, clean bathrooms and do some other things from my trusty list.
*The baby will pull things from the dishwasher and hand them to me so I can put them away.
*ds knows he has to clean up his toys before he can play outside or before meals.
*sometimes i bring the highchair in the kitchen and she can sit there with crayons and paper while I clean the fridge or dishes.
*while I cook dinner I usually pop in a baby einsten dvd.
* they go to bed at 8 and I sit down and watch tv with dh and day ends!!
Answer:
I was wondering the same thing today.
I have 17mth old twins, and I get as much done as I can when they are napping, but I have now started asking my dh to watch them when he can, as the high chair doesn't work for me, (They can wriggle out of the straps and stand up), so I just get it doen when I can!!!
Answer:
My house is never 100%. I pick up the toys and vacumn, and by the time I am done they are back out again. With a 2 1/2 year old and a ten month old I had to give up. I do my best durning the day and at night I do a quick run through to pick up the toys after they go to bed, and do any Ironing before I go to bed.
Answer:
Hahahahahahahaha!!!
No.
Hurricane Katarina keeps me very busy. I wait until the weekend to send Kat off to the park with the hubster before I try cleaning. It's amazing how fast her little hands can undo a few hours of work.
Answer:
My 3yo tends to mess up anything I clean within minutes so I usually wait until the kids are asleep. Sometimes if they are both up, I'll wear my baby in a carrier and ask the toddler to help me pick up toys so I can vacuum. 90% of cleaning gets done after 8PM around here though.
Answer:
My Dad came by this evening and saw all the cheetos on the floor and said it looked like my house when my kids were little! Now I see why I had a very dirty house back then. Bless all of you who do this every day! Nanny is just a little too old to chase constantly--and we will soon have another!
