In your own gardens, do you practice green magick (as it's so often called)? If so, what aspects have worked for you--successful plantings? successful spells? or simply, a means in which to procure herbs for less $$$ than you'd pay in a herb shoppe?
If you'd rather PM me you may...I've seen how the witch talk can get out of control (i.e. the itstinkerbelle thread from last year). I am neither a witch nor a wiccan, but I've read countless books on wiccan gardening practices and I do believe our connection to the natural world to be quite spiritual.
Any info would be appreciated, as I have little patience waiting for moon phases, etc!!!

The first thing I do before I plant anything is go outside in a pair of shorts or a bathing suit, sit down on the ground where you are going to plant, If you can sit there for a while and be comfortable then the ground is warm enough to plant, if you are not comfortable do not plant yet, the earth is not ready to give new life for you yet.

thanks I never thought of it that way. I think I wil try that. Here in MN it varies all the time. this would be more consistent with Mother Nature.

Hmmmm, itstinkerbelle, I am almost always at ease sitting on the ground--I was raised by a very "outdoorsy" family. I'll have to try this sometime & see how it effects my plantings.
