this will be my first garden with my son...just wanted some ideas if i missed any that we havent decided to plant yet.

I have potatoes right now growing! And I have planted marigolds next to them. I have planted peas and carrots but no sight of them just yet. I did just put strawberry plants in the ground and when I'm done here my daughter and I will return and plant some onions. Hopefully I'll get my beans and spinach in the ground by tomorrow. I'm just trying to do a little bit at a time but I know spring is running out! Oh, and I planted Blue Potatoes yesterday -- just for fun.

I have 3 smaller flower gardens but they will have to be empty this year... hubby does not have the patience for planting flowers and I am to pregnant to plant them. I guess I'll have to do a nice job next year.
I have tried a small veggie garden but our city squirrels raid it every time...they eat everything.

Here's what we have:
4 early girl tomatoes
4 golden globe tomatoes (my favorite... low acid)
4 purple cabbage
4 green pepper
4 red pepper
6 yellow squash
4 accorn squash
3 zuccinni
2 rows (20 ft) Beets
1 row (10 ft) radish
We are farmers and plant 3 rows, eachrow is 200 foot long of sweet corn. And 20-30 hills of pumpkins.

Here's an idea for you....
We plant pole beans.. They are green beans the need to climb. We put up a tee pee frame with string wove around it. The beans will grow ans wrap themsleves around the string. My girls love to watch the tee pee become covered in vines and then beans.
The idea started when they recieved a book.

It is fun to pick the peas and beans. I remember doing it as a kid and now my kids are doing it. We've also got strawberries.
