Do you stick with one brand of formula or buy what is on sale?

Ask:
My sister is wondering this question!! She has an 8 week old...and has so many coupons and free samples of various brands!
Answer:

I stuck with one brand but only because I got WIC for Abby. However, when I'd get free sample cans in the mail, I'd use them and it never hurt her. My sister also switches up as long as she stays with the same basic ingredients because she has used free sample cans and such. I also mixed the free sample cans with her regular formula...I'd do three ounces Good Start, three ounces of the sample formula (this was after she was 9 mos. old as she had some trouble digesting lactose in the beginning). She could do that if she's afraid it might hurt baby's tummy.
Answer:

I always stuck with what they started us on at the hospital. I was always worried that their tummies couldnt take it, if I was constitly (SP?)switching things around. I really dont think it hurts anything to try. With the cost of formual, it does help to save some money. Does your sister have any sort of a WIC program where she lives?? I know it was a lifesaver for us to help with the cost of formula. It saved me about $120/month. I always had to go buy more (I have big eaters) but it really did help. Plus now that everyone is on milk, it helps us a lot there.
Answer:

MY DD gets WIC so she gives the baby Similac Advanced. She ran out once before her next check was allowed to be used, so I gave her a can of Nestle Good Start that I got with a free coupon. The baby didn't seen to notice and he tolerated it quite well.
Answer:

Well, we switched when we felt we should because ds had such a sensitive tummy. But once we found one that worked, we stayed with it. Don't want to risk more upset tummy while getting used to the change.
Answer:

They say its easier on baby's system to just stick to one kind. Of course, if you go generic, it will always be cheaper than the one on sale.

Answer:

I always bought whatever was the cheapest or I had a coupon for. The only thing my kids did not tollerate well was the Good Start. They were just fine.
Answer:

I have always stuck to one kind! My dd has to use Enfamil Nutramigen so there is not really a substitute. Although we have WIC for it now we were paying $24.00 a can, crazy! I get lots of coupons in the mail that I give away or throw away switching around is not an option.
Answer:

I usually bought Similac or Enfamil. I did not like Goodstart....it did not seem to disolve as well as the other two.
Answer:

We stuck with one brand. With my son, we never switched since he had reflex and we tried to keep in under control. My daughter, I tried the switch and she got very fussy. To say the least, we went back. I say if you find something you like and it works, stick with it. You will sleep much better at night...
