My Favorite Project UNITY CANDLE by Abbysmommy
Supplies:
1 large pillar candle
2 yards thin lace/trim of your choice
1 yard pearl bead garland
2 fake wedding bands (I used silver)
Ribbon to tie wedding bands together
hot glue gun/hot glue
Mod Podge
Heavy paper, your choice of colors - I used a business type paper with a blue marble design for this candle
Using your computer printer, print a verse on the heavy paper. (Be sure and leave plenty of space at the bottom for gluing on wedding rings) Mine says:
Now abideth
these three: faith
hope and love, but
the greatest of these
is love.

Cut words out in an oval (I used an oval shape on my computer to go by). Mod podge the back of the oval and stick to candle. Mod podge over the top and allow to dry.
Starting at the bottom of the oval, hot glue lace (mine is a crocheted type lace/trim) around the oval, barely covering the edge, to form a frame. Repeat using bead garland. Repeat again using trim.
Tie artificial wedding bands together with ribbon. Hot glue at the bottom under names and date.
I probably had about $8 in this candle...and they sell for $25 most places without being personalized. This was a HUGE money saver for this couple!!
