Ask:
Do you give money to homeless people you see on the streets? A coworker got mad at me when I said I refuse to give them money. I know it's steriotypical but I'm not giving away my hard earned money for them to possibly spend it on drugs or alcohol. Plus I'm not rolling my window down when I don't know you, carjackings happen this way. On the other hand I have given people food or an umbrella before.
We were at the park last week and another child told my dd they only had enough money to eat once a day. Her mom was mortified and embarrassed her dd shared this. They were down on their luck while she was getting a divorce. DD and I went to Mcdonalds, drove back and we all had a picnic lunch together. You would have thought I was Santa when she found the treat in her happy meal. It made me feel good to help them and dd saw first hand how little things can help others.
I donate clothes to Goodwill, give food to the women's shelter downtown when i have additional, but I won't give them cash on the street.

Answer:
I'll donate money to agencies that help the homeless, but I do not directly give money to homeless people. Many of these people have substance abuse problems and I don't trust them to properly use the money.
Answer:
i don't give money to homeless people, but i will go and buy them a sandwich and pop or coffee. they can;t spend that on drugs or alcohol, and in order for me to do that they have to look pretty pathetic.
Answer:
I will take them food maybe but not just hand out cash. Just because you never know. Besides the fact that you don't know if they might be dangerous.
I just wanted to say what you did for that family was very nice. Sometimes people fall down on their luck and a little kindness will go a long way.

Answer:
I will keep my opinions about this to myself as I am VERY opinionated when it comes to this...but no, I will not give money to someone standing on the street begging for it or presenting themselves in a way that others would feel the need to give them money.
Answer:
No, but I have tried to give them food before and been turned down.
Good for you for doing that for that mom and daughter. Definitely a Pay it Foward moment!
Answer:
Most of the time no but at Walmart before my mom and I each gave this lady a few dollars because who knows? Maybe she was just down on her luck? She also looked okay, not intoxicated or all drugged up and had a teenager with her.
