Ask:
besides the price, what is the difference between a $10 pair of soccer shoes and a $30 pair of soccer shoes ??
Answer:
For what age? For an elementary school child...only the price tag, in my opinion. Three of my six have played for YEARS...and until they hit middle school age, we did the cheaper ones!
Answer:
Do I count as both a Mom and a coach if DH is the coach?
Nothing. We've had a couple of $15 pair from Academy that came with shin guards and a water bottle as a set and a pair of $25 pair of Addidas that came with nothing. I can't say there's a difference at all. DD never wore them for longer than a year because she grew and we had to buy new ones. But I've kept all her old cleats in case her younger sister ever plays. So they are all in reasonable condition.
Answer:
I have to agree, when they are young and only wear them for one season the cheap ones are fine.
Answer:
It definately depends on the age. My son is now 12 and plays on 2 different soccer teams so he is always in his cleats. We spend quite a bit on his cleats but that is because he wears them as much as his regular tennis shoes. I also don't want him to mess his feet or legs up by not having good support. But like I said, it is only because he is in them all the time. If they just play once a week... I would probably go with the lower priced ones myself.
Answer:
DD has been in soccer for three years, and this is the first year cleats have actually fit!! She has tiny feet! She has Nike's, but I got them on clearance, so I haven't had to purchase "cheap" ones yet. But for her age, I would buy cheap shoes if need be, until she's in competitive and playing more in those shoes. Having a good pair of shoes when playing a sport can make all the difference at times.
Answer:
Nothing!!!!
