Ask:
I got a call from my boss today. A full time postion is possibly opening up.
I'll be going from 24 hours to 32 hours, which is full time where I work. The person who has the job got arrested last night and will most likely be fired. NOthing is set in stone yet, so its really all up in the air. But I already called dh and told him we need to discuss this, and then I called MIL and 'warned' her that the kids might be over a bit more.
This is HUGE for me. And couldn't have come at a better time. OUr funrace is going, as is our oil burner, and I've got a bunch of other bills that I need to take care of. Lots to consider, I'll be elegible for insurance now and take the burden off dh for all of us.
I'm kinda excited, at the same time sad! I'm gonna miss my easy carefree days just staying home and doing nothing! taking off with the kids anytime I want, KWIM?? This is going to be a HUGE adjustment, I havn't worked full time in 5 years!
Answer:
Good luck to you, sounds like it came at a good time. You will figure it all out 32 hrs is still managable. You will figure it all out
Answer:
Good for you!!!! It is so good that you have your iinlaws to help with the kids!! I wish I could talk my mil into moving up here! It is hard to juggle a work schedule around the kids' schedule!
Answer:
Good luck! It sounds like you're ready to do it! And it's wonderful that your MIL can be so flexible with you!!
Answer:
WEll see thats part of the delimna. My MIL is fairly flexable, my FIL is not. She doesn't mind having JUST the girls, or JUST Cameron, but she has trouble with all 3 of them at the same time. She IS going to be 70 this year. And FIL is the 4th kid.....
I have a friend I met through playgroup (She actually grew up with dh which I didn't find out till after I met her so He knows her well!) And she does childcare. I saw her today at a school function, and asked her if she would be available to watch cameron. She told me she has NO openings for the summer, but in the fall she will be wide open, and be able to take Cameron anytime. SO I"m set for the fall, but I don't know what to do for the summer. This might be too much for MIL, so like I said, we really need to sit down and discuss this.
I'm hoping it will work out. My girls are supposed to go to summercamp this year through the rec dept. Its 6 weeks , during school hours M-Fand my shift is 6-2, so MIL would only have Cameron most of the time. AND its only for the summer cuz like I told her, I've lined up my friend for the fall.
Keep your fingers crossed this all works out!
Answer:
I hope it all works out for you. I will miss you on here as much! Hope it's a great solution!
Answer:
I'm sure that it will all work out. 32 hours is still good. You will be able to manage that-I worked 8-5 M-F at my other job. Now I work 7:30-4 at my current job.
Answer:
That's great! I'm sure you will get it figured out! I think you might want to prepare for finding care for all three instead of just cameron with your mil being 70, wouldn't hurt having a plan.

I don't really need to, unless is a holiday, vacation or no school day. My shift ends at 2, I'm home by 2:30 and my girls get off the bus at 3:30. Dh will get them ON the bus in the AM, and drop CAmeron off where he needs to be. If he goes to PM preschool, I'll pick him up at 3pm. If he goes to AM preschool, he'll be dropped off by dh, and picked up by MIL. The girl that is going to watch them for me, if she has other kids going to preschool, she can do the drop off, pick up for me without a problem. But I wouldn't make her if Cameron is the only one going.

First of all - I work to help by providing insurance and benefits for my family and it is so worth it. And I really enjoy going to work - it is my social life (I guess that could be thought of as sad) I have a suggestion for you for a babysitter - do you know any high schoolers that might be interested in babysitting this summer? When my girls were younger I had a teenager that babysat for me during the summer and it was great. She came to my house and I would even leave a list of a few chores for her to do. My flowers outside never looked better - I had her water them every day!!!! And my girls loved having a "cool" babysitter. Or even a college student home for the summer might be a good idea. You might could even find a girl to just help you out a few days a week and your MIL could the other days.
Good Luck with your job. I hope you will find it to be a new and exciting avenue. Keep us posted
