Every year our library has a poetry contest. And, every year I "think" about submitting a poem. This year I submitted a poem that I had written for Mother's Day last year (see . The library patrons vote on their favorite poem for a month. The clerk at the library just called to tell me I won! I have to pick up my prize the next time I'm in town. It's probably a gift card or gift basket, and they'll publish the poem in our local newspaper.
I was excited and just wanted to share.
Maybe next year I'll submit my Father's Day poem!
