Ask:
When we got there they say the baby had had a bowel movemnet, thesaid when she delivered that she had had more than one. They told us they just watch her and if she runs no fever she will be fine. Does anyone know anything about this or if we should be doing anything different or getting another opinion--it worrys me having lost a baby to something that was overlooked at first.
Answer:
If your worried then get a second opinion. It won't hurt anything.
Answer:
My youngest son did that too. They actually took him down to another hospitals NICU center and monitored him for two days. He was having difficulty breathing though.
If the baby seems to be breathing fine and doesn't show any signs of infection i'm sure she is fine.
Answer:
My youngest passed meconium before being delivered. They had a Pediatrician present and examined him as soon as he was born and thankfully he had not aspirated any.
Answer:
My DD had this. I pm'd you.
Answer:
My daughter did this and it scared me half to death. They were ready to deliver her and so many people were there. I did not get to see her for about 10-15 min after she was born. They sucked all the stuff out of her by putting a tube in her stomach. They let me see her for 5 min and took her to the nusury to moniter her for about 2 hours. They finally brought her back and determined that the meconium had not affected her lungs. The Peds examined her again the following two days in the hospital and let me know that I needed to keep an eye on her and make sure she was breathing ok and did not run fever. She was fine. You can always get that second opinion. We had several just while we were at the hospital.
