Are your kids doing summer school?

Ask:
Just wondering who all has kids in summer school? Do they go for remedial help, enrichrment or some other reason?
Answer:

no not here!! we do have an at home program we are using!! but thats it!!
Answer:

Our Montessori offers enrichment programs in the summer, one to one with the assistant teacher. They don't start until the end of June, and then are one hour long. She told me she plans on language based games and continuing ds reading skills.

Ds is a funny bunny ~ he is a beginning reader and doesn't have the confidence to read anything he doesn't know very well to/with us. So we are sending him to these enrichment sessions to hopefully bridge the gap between preschool and K and keep him reading!! Get out your checkbook though, the sessions are $30/hour. Although education you really shouldn't put a price on! I just told him today he's going, and it was cool with it!!
Answer:

I was thinking of doing the enrichment thing but I decided to do it myself. We will do it the same time on the same days days. We will be working on math. This way I figure he also won't get as cranky as he did at the beginning of the year about homework when he goes back to school.
Answer:

Nope
Answer:

Around here summer school is only avaliable by teacher recommendation for children that need extra help with thing, so my kids will not be going.
Answer:

No. But On the days where the kids dont have any outside extra activities (swim lessons, library, etc.) we are going to do things. We will do some refresher courses on all our letters, numbers, etc. i am going to incorporate for outside as much as we can. we have a big driveway, so what better way to practice writing than on that with chaulk.
Answer:

Mine goes cause both dh and I work full time, this will give him something to do throughout the day. Its good for him...so he wont get bored or forget things over the summer.
Plus on the school site is a before/after school daycare. So on the days he doesnt have school, he can be watched by the school's daycare program. It works out good for me.

I even told him that he will most likely go to summer school every year. He doesnt mind.
Answer:

My boys are going. Carson will be in a new building for 1st grade, so summer school will give him familiarity with the building and routines before the school year starts...as well as enrichment. Parker is going to kindergarten in a new building, so I'm sending him for the same reasons. They both love the summer school program so far, but they only just started yesterday. I sent Carson last year for kindergarten for the same reasons, and he had a blast! Once school rolled around, he was very comfortable with it since he had already gone with a smaller group in the summer.
Answer:

Nope. Each day dd and I sit down and do a worksheet either off the internet or from a book. This week we are working on math. I also set time aside each day for her to read to me and to go over sight words.
