Workout With The Kids

Ask:
Ok I'm beyond frustrated right now!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a new workout DVD and I put it in after lunch. It's only a 20 minute session, should be able to get thru it with no problem, right?? WRONG!! My 5 year old wanted to do it with me, ok, that's usually not a problem but I kept having to tell her to move back a little so I don't have to confine my movements. Well, then 3 year old lays smack dab in the middle of the floor and starts screaming, won't move, I'm having to modify the movements. To top it all off eldest dd starts crying when the moves get harder because she can't do the combinations!!! So I just simply had to stop!!! Exercise is supposed to help relieve stress, not create it!!!! GRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer:

I know how you feel, i do THE FIRM workouts and DS is 2 and he will sit on thestep when I have to step on it! Then he will grab my legs and not let go, wanting me to pick him up!

If i do situps he comes and sits on my stomach!!!

Now you knwo why I try to workout at 5am, before the kids are up!!!!
Answer:

When I only had 1 at home I exercised during her nap. Now that I have 2, the oldest doesn't take a nap most days.

I can't even get up at 5am and exercise in peace. My 4 year old gets up 5:30-6 lately. She was getting up at 7 since she doesn't take a nap. What the heck?

Now I have to get up at 4:30 and that still doesn't guarantee I will exercise without interruption.

At least we are trying!

I have the same problem when I attempt to work out at home. I even have to put the dog downstairs or outside because for some reason he will bark at me

And here I thought chasing the kids was the workout! I do lots of walks with the kiddo

Okay this thread cracked me up. LOL I can totally picture what each of you are describing because it has all happened at my house! Every time I get on the big ab ball my almost 2 year old screams bloody murder and tries to push me off so he can get on! And the part about the dog barking - oh my goodness I literally laughed out loud!!!

I recommend the tae bo tapes with your kids, especially if you have boys. My ds loves to try to do the kicking and punching moves!
