I need help dealing with Cigarette smoke...

Ask:
We live in a townhome in a nice, well kept community. In the last month we've begun noticing a smoke smell filtering in from the unit behind us. We were counting on our second bedroom being the nursery but it's the worst in there. I don't want our baby, due in August, to be breathing second-hand smoke and it's making me feel miserable. I'm allergic to it. We can't afford to move in the near future. Do purification systems work? Does anyone have any recommendations for cleaning the air. We're thinking about going to the association but I'm not sure they can help. I appreciate any suggestions.
Answer:

You should look into one of those HEPA air purifiers. My husband had one at his acupuncture clinic when he did moxibution (puts off smoke like incense). It really helped a lot. You could even propose the association to pay for all or part of it.
Answer:

I have 2 of the Whirlpool Whispure 510 air purifers. My husband has asthma and allergies and we wanted to clean the air for our girls. They have both a carbon filter and a HEPA filter as well as indicator lights when the filter needs changing. There are 4 different fan speeds and a sleep control. I bought these from Lowes, they were ~$130, BUT worth the money.

Thank you. I think we will look into the air purifiers. We own or we would ask to be moved. I appreciate the suggestions and will watch more more.
