Question for Aldi's shoppers...

Ask:
Hi there! I am going to go to our local Aldi's today for the first time to try it. I was just wondering what things you all have gotten from there that you don't like. Things I should stay away from. What are your favorite things that I should definately try? Just trying to put together a list before I go. So many of you have talked about Aldi's and how much you love it, so I thought I would finally try it. TIA!!!!
Answer:

Drinking yogurts are not so great. Their cereal is good they usually have Pringles for a good price. Most everything else that we have tried is good.

Has anyone ever tried their cheese? I have never tried but the kiddos are cheese fanatics and I know its cheaper than the reg. store.
Answer:

I'm not a big fan of the salad dressing (especially the Italian) but I'm pretty picky about my dressing. I also didn't care for the diet soda. Other than that, we've really liked everything else we've gotten. I highly recommend the cereals, poptarts, granola bars, chips and it's fabulous for baking products (flour, sugar, oils, spices, etc.). It's also the cheapest place I've found frozen chicken breasts, milk and cheese. We love the cheese and the string cheese is great too. Have fun!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer:

I don't like their cheese (sandwich slices or cheese sticks, shredded is fine) . So far that is the only thing I can honestly say I don't get there. After having been talked back into trying the bread (I must have gotten 2 bad loafs in a row) even the bread is good.
Cereals are great, baking stuff, snacks for the kids, granola bars, pepperoni (It is $2 cheaper for the same size pack than in the grocery store and tastes BETTER IMO). Soups, mac n cheese, frozen stuff fresh fruits and veggies, meats, Orange juice...I think I've covered alot of the store
Answer:

I usually get milk, eggs, cheese, vanilla yogurt, dinner rolls, lunchmeat (prepackaged), flavored cream, frozen ground turkey (.79/lb!!) bananas are cheap (have to be there on the right day for them to be green though), breads/rolls are good (very cheap for white!), mac/cheese, rice, noodles, canned veg & fruit, frozen veg, tuna fish, canned chicken, baby carrots, celery, green/red/yellow pepper packaged together, cereals are pretty good and oatmeal. hth!!
Answer:

My experiences have been hit or miss - I get milk and cereal there and fruit, I just check it over really well.
Answer:

My DH and I always warn people not to get the CHEESE PIZZA kit. We tried once a couple of years ago and thought it was gross. It may be better now. I too don't care for the Italian dressing and the white chocolate baking chips are good for cookies but not very good for dipping items IMO.

Someone else asked about the cheese and we buy the shredded all the time and it is good. The sliced mozzarella and others are pretty good. We've never tried the American slices because we always buy Kraft.

There really isn't too much that I won't buy from there. If I'm not sure I'll just buy one of an item and if you don't like it you're not out too much $$. I was just there last night and bought a bunch of stuff for less than $60.

Another great thing about shopping there is that it is quick, quick, quick. I was in and out with a cart full in less than 1/2 hour including my bagging time.
Answer:

I have liked almost everything I've gotten from Aldi, with the exception of the Italian salad dressing and their beer. I bought a sample pack of beer for my husband when they first started carrying alcohol, and he said it was awful. We like the cheese, even the American slices. We used to shop there a long time ago and they had a different kind of American cheese that we nicknamed "heat shield cheese" because no matter how hot you got it it would not melt. Their buns and bread are better than the regular brands to me. I agree with another poster, just buy one of whatever you are unsure of and try it, they have a guarantee if you don't like it, so you can get your money back.
Answer:

I was going to post more of what I liked but kiddos sidetracked me.

Mac N Cheese, kids snacks most everything everyone else has already covered.

I like the Fit and Active Italian dressing for pasta salad but I am not an italian dressing fan on reg.salads, except at Olive Garden.

I have their 100% wheat bread excellent and so cheap than the reg.grocery store!
