My brother is currently over there, and I thought it would be a cool thing to gather cards from all of our family and friends and send them over the last week of June, so that they get them for the fourth of July!!! My brother is really good about passing things around, so he will be our mailman once they arrive in Iraq!! If you would like to send a card to me to forward, I am going to put them all in a big box and mail them at once..probably about June 21st or so...to make sure they get there by the 4th! My brother gets care packages from me, my sister, my parents, his wife, etc., and he always shares with everyone in his unit/around him. He has been shocked and very sadden to see the number of people who never get ANYTHING from home...a letter, a package, not even a card. He even gave me the name of a female co-worker last week who was down in the dumps and just needed someone to send her something to let them know she was cared for. (I have a package to go out Monday morning!) It doesn't take much. I think they can just take any support we can give them...homemade or otherwise!!
