I did a first yesterday....I gave a homeless man lunch money.

Ask:
My kids and I had to run to WalMart to exchange our iron (it died!), and while there, we ran to the in store McDonald's for a quick snack. Well, there was an obviously homeless man eating there, too. He had on winter clothes with a winter coat, and he carried his duffle bag with him. His hair was long and tangled, and you could tell he hadn't bathed in a while. Both of my kids were watching him, as only kids are truly innocent in staring..so I leaned over and asked the manager if they knew anything about him. They said that he pops in once in a while with a few dollars to eat and sits in the a/c. So, I gave them $5 for a gift card..and then, like a chicken, I asked them if they could give it to him. Well, before they could, he got up and shuffled out. All I could think of was the song where it sings, "What if Jesus came back like that?"....and I grabbed the gift card and took off after him. I just walked up behind him and called out, "Sir"..and when he turned, I said, "This is for you". He just looked sad and puzzled..but said thanks before we walked away. My kids were shocked..but also thought it was cool..and it was an awesome teaching moment for us. I walked away knowing that in a way, Jesus HAD come back like that..because He is in all of us...and I fed Him at least one meal. I just wanted to share...and to challenge you the next time YOU have a moment to do the same....DO IT. It is a feeling that nothing else will give you.
