Apple Pie

Ask:
Ok, no laughing. I have never made an apple pie before, so I need a little help. I dont even like apple pie, but my 5 year old asked if we could make one. So, if anyone has a super good recipe, I would appreciate it. I just need it for the filling, I plan on getting the already made pie crusts. I have looked some other recipes for apple pie, but my big question is, what kind of apples do you use?? None of the recipes I have for apple pie tell you what kind of apples to use. Thank you!
Answer:

I personally like a mix of red mcIntosh and granny smith
