Ask:
It has been 4 years since dh has had a raise and he works for his parents! I am so sick of hearing there isn't any money-then why have a business if it isn't making anything? I scrimp all I can to save money and we don't go anywhere or do anything and it just gets depressing sometimes. Yet my inlaws go on really nice vacations and awhile back by fil told me they give $20,000 to church! That's great but he is retired so I don't see how they are doing it. I keep hearing how if we get this account we could make twice what we are making but nothing happens! Thanks for listening to me vent, just wondering how often your husband get a raise?
Answer:
I think my dh is supposed to get raises annually, but you know that goes.
When he does get a raise, it's usually only 3-4% (I remember when raises were 6-8% -- anything less than that was considered an insult) AND his raises seem to coincide with a health insurance increase which basically eats up the raise.
Answer:
My dh get a small raise every year, mostly just cost of living.
Answer:
Usually every 2 years here-the last 1 was $1.50/hr, the one before that was $10K/yr. My last raise was 1 yr. ago but that was for me to stay part time and not quit and be a fulltime SAHM.
Answer:
My dh gets annual raises that are performance based. They get their review in Jan then the raise begins w/ their fiscal year in March.
Every two years he has to take a "level test" to test his knowledge of the equipment, and they are trained on more every year, and once they pass this they receive an additional raise and move up a level, but with it comes more responsibility. Once they reach a level 5 they can either just stay where they are (no more level tests or raises but still annual raises) or go on to level 6 and 7 and become management.
I've said it many times, but we are so lucky because he works for a great company, they have excellent benefits and really take good care of their employees.
Answer:
Annual. Your dh's parents are really taking advantage of him.
Answer:
Dh gets a raise annually and then also things like end of the year bonus and other corporate perks but it really depends on what business you're in etc My sister has worked for the same company for almost 10 years and has gotten very small cost of living raises every year (sometimes not even that)...it just depends.
Does your Dh ask for a raise...? What do they say? Has he considered getting a job elsewhere?
Answer:
DH just got his first raise in 5 years and it was a big one. However, they give bonuses a couple of times a year.
Answer:
DH is disabled but Social Security has a cost of living increase usually once a year.
Answer:
My DH gets a raise every 6 months, a performance bonus check and stock options also at that time. The company he works for his very good to their employees..the health insurance stinks but the rest makes up for it.
I feel bad for your DH because he really is being taken advantage of.
