There are days when I just want to run away from home and never hear the words "mommmmmmy" again!!! However, in the midst of all the chaoticness there are tender and sweet times too. Take yesterday for example. We were out at Riverfest with the boys. Kayaking, fishing, submarine racing, moon bounding, etc (very crazy day, yet fun) however, my ds (4) was hounding us all day with questions (tons and tons and tons of questions about absolutely nothing and everything. They never ceased). Then when we thought we were going to lose it all, Zach turns to dh and says "mommy looks like a princess". NO idea where that came from. I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. In fact, at that particular point, I was close to pulling out my hair one by one!!
Later that night, Zach says "mommy, I Love you" and I said "I love you too" and he says "but mommy, you're the best". Again, completely random....and totally what I needed to hear after such a chaotic day!

Saturday I was having a meltddown... long story. Anyway I had to babysit my grandson so I managed to get myself under control while my DD was dropping him off. While she was there I started crying again because she knew something was wrong. After talking to her I walked over to my grandson (he is 6 months old) and said hello big boy in my silly voice that always makes him smile... he smiled and all my troubles melted away. He is such a joy to have around... there is no way I could have dwelled on my earlier feelings with him there.

When its been a hard day at my house, my kids get cuddly. Luke always has to put his arm around my waist while hes sitting by me on the couch and Maudie likes to hold hands. Funny how just those two little things make me feel so much better.

When I'm just done in, all frustrated and frazzled, Kat will come over and hug me and say "It's ok, momma." Sometimes, if it's been a REALLY bad day, she'll say "Momma crying! Nina kiss it and make it all better!" She's my sweet babboo.
