Anyone know where to find a good metal lunch box?

Ask:
Im planning on getting one for my son for when he starts 2nd grade. I prefer to buy them in a regular store but havent seen any.

He has a plastic one but the lid is already busted off and I had to put it back on and it has to last till the end of the school yr.

I used to have a metal one back in the 80's and they are so durable and last a long time!
They just dont make things like they used to.
Answer:

They are more of a craft or decor item now. I see them in craft stores. Target also has a few styles available.

You can also get the workman's metal lunch box at hardward stores.
Answer:

It's not metal but this is the one we have. It's on year 4 and still going strong. I'm hoping he'll still be using it in highschool.

PS I says just to wipe clean but I toss it them in the wash once a week on the gentle cycle (front load washing machine) and they come out looking brand new.

Have you tried a place like Lowes, Home Depot or other hardware stores? If you cant find a metal one maybe you could try a heavy duty plastic one? My hubby has one and it gets beat and battered everyday and has lasted.
Answer:

I would check out EBay if I were you. They have everything.
Answer:

We've always used the soft sided ones from Lands End or LLBean...they last forever, come in tons of colors, easy to clean etc
Answer:

That Lands End lunch bag is very nice. I like that option of being able to hook it to my sons backpack. Also you can insert gel packs to keep lunches cool.

Guess Ill just wait till the stores put out their back to school stuff and see what comes out.
Answer:

You might laugh, but Chuck E Cheese had them. They had several styles, Superman, Spiderman, Dora and Strawberry Shortcake. I have seen them in Ross and Marshalls too.
