Ask:
We have been invited to go camping in a travel trailer w/friends, I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old. I wanted to get ideas on where to sleep the kids. There is no room for a pack and play (10 month old), where do other people have their children sleep?
Thank you.
Answer:
Wow!!! I don't camp, but let me just say that you are one brave woman!!!!
Answer:
How much space are you getting? 2 double beds? If so, it will probably go better if you and dh split up and one of you sleep with each kid.
We go camping each summer and it's usually in a tent. The first summer little dd went she was still small enough to sleep in her car seat. The next summer was harder getting her to sleep in a sleeping bag. This year I am trying to get cabins for all of our trips because I really don't feel like tenting it pregnant. Next summer we will have a baby and will have out grown our tent. I really want a tent trailer.

I was waiting to see if anyone else had any ideas. We've decided to wait until our youngest is 2 1/2 next year. Taking a toddler or older baby anywhere is harder than taking an infant. Good luck

We have camped when our older boys were that age. I would suggest having one adult sleep with each child if you aren't able to use a pack n play. I would bring the pack n play along. You could set it up outside as a place to keep the baby out of the dirt and especially away from the campfire. It could also be used for naps in the shade etc..
Good Luck and have fun!!

Matt and I have decided to wait until next summer to camp with ours, so we haven't any advice. I just want to say good luck to you, though.
Answer:
This is how we do it. We have a travel trailer that has 2 double beds (one on each end), the table that folds down to a twin bed and a sofa that folds down to a twin bed. Oldest DD (5) usually sleeps on the sofa bed alone. Last time, youngest DD (8 months at the time) slept on the table bed and we put oldest DD's old bed rails along the edge to block her. DH and I slept on one double bed.
We are going again in a couple weeks and this time the baby will probably sleep with me on one double since she is getting around more, oldest DD will sleep on the sofa bed, and DH on the other double.
HTH...
Answer:
If there isn't much room we always sleep with the kids, We are taking a tent this year to one place and staying in a hotel (grandpas treat) for our beach trip.
Answer:
We've been camping with our 3, last summer, a few times. They were 5 months, 2 and 3 years the first time. We went tent camping. The 2 & 3 year old did fine. I went in the tent with them and laid down until they fell asleep, which didn't take long. The baby was still on his sleep, then wake to nurse, then sleep, then wake to nurse schedule. He cried a little while when I first put him down and by the time he woke to nurse, I was already in bed with him.
Of course, now that he is older, it will be harder without a pack n play. We haven't used a travel trailer, although we are thinking of buying one this summer. I'm getting tired of tent camping.
