With our stock money,I am going to be getting a new laptop for my upcoming school and I was wanting to know where,and when will I get the best deal.I keep thinking in the fall but hubby wants to get it NOW so somehow it doesnt get forgotten.So where should I look?I do nothave to have the best but I want a really good one.If you have any tips...let me know.Oh...I also need the wireless internet(the kind with the ethernet card..I think).Any best deals out there??

I'll just tell you my experience. I bought a Gateway laptop just about two years ago. Love it and haven't had any problems outside of the norm. My husband, about six months later, bought the exact same Gateway laptop and has had problem after problem with it. One time he even had to send it back to the company. If we had purchased his first we would have never had looked at a second one.
As for wireless internet, we use Verizon DSL but we also live in a rural area and can't really get anything other than Verizon. Even though we have been pretty happy with that - just make sure you password protect your account. We didn't have our protected for a long time and I'm pretty sure the neighbor's were using it. Completely slowed our system down.

Yeah we were also looking at Verizon scince we have our cells threw them.What do you mean Password protect?I should know this lol.

If you have wireless network, others near you (neighbors, people driving in your neighborhood) can detect and illegally use it if you don't have it password protected. It is very easy to do...

I have a DELL. I love it, and didnt have probs for a year. Then just recently I have had to replace the power cord ($40) twice. Their customer service has also been HORRIBLE. DH has an HP that was more expensive but a much better computer. No problems for four years now...

I have a Dell also and love it. Had no problems with it. I got mine during the end of the yr. I think it was in December (I took advantage of the sale/special they were having.) No finance charges for 1 yr. So I paid for my laptop before the yr and didnt have to pay any finance charges. I never had any problems with customer service. (guess it just depends on the person you get on the phone) ha ha
I recommend Dell.

I work in a computer center and the guys here picked mine out for me and customized it for me. They suggested Dell. They said NOT to go with HP.
I have had mine for about 2 months and LOVE it. I had great customer service when we were researching.
Most come with wireless cards. You can choose what kind you want. We got the basic and haven't had any problems. Your wireless problems will come with you service.

We have 2 Dell laptops and love them. Dh customized/designed them on their website. Then he watches the price for a while to see if anything goes on sale. We haven't had any problems except mine is now 2 years old and needs a new battery. I just have to stay plugged in all the time unitl we get a new one.
