I just planted eggplant for the first time.. My kids love it so might as well grow it.. I've read that it's similar to zuccini as far as what the plant looks like. And that I should thin to 3-4 per hill... Any advise?

My dad use to plant eggplant growing up. I tried last year, but I planted it too late. This year my plant died before I got it in the ground.
I don't recall the plants looking like a zucchini. I thought they were more like a pepper plant. The eggplant itself is zucchini like.
I remember my mom cooking fried eggplant. Coating it in egg/milk then flour/salt/pepper and deep frying it. Yum!

It looks like it grows taller than zucchini does. Zucchini is a short plant that grows wide with the zucchini resting on the ground as it grows.
The eggplant in the picture looks like it is hanging on the plant.
