Ask:
I've started off this pregnancy weighing about 15lbs more than I should be. Any thoughts on this? I'm totally paranoid about my size and weight right now, and am not sure of what to do. Should I just forget about it until the baby comes? Are there things I can do now? I am at the tail end of morning sickness, so when I try not to snack all the time, I seem to get sick to my stomach. Suggestions or thoughts?
Answer:
I bet even if their not overweight many expectant moms feel that way! Don't try to diet but try to eat healthy! I know I gained way too much weight with both my pregnancies and hey I am still trying to lose it and my "baby" is 3. I was even sent to a nutritionist she said the extra calories you need are like a 1/2 sandwich and a glas of low fat milk. So drop the gallon of icecream and go for the good for you fruits and veggies. I am sure you will be fine.

I wasn't in great shape and had a little extra weight when I got preggo. But then I was so sick at first I lost quite a bit, not a good thing.
I wouldn't worry about it because you are going to gain weight while you are pregnant. That is just part of it. However you can eat healthy and get some moderate exercise to control how much you gain. Walking is great exercise and it makes me feel better too.
Keep snacking every so often if that is what keeps you from getting sick. Besides it is better to eat several small times than just a couple big times.
Answer:
Yes this was a big thing for me. Around Christmas I was actually about 20 pounds heavier than I'd have liked, but lost 10 before getting pregnant. Still not to my "fighting" weight, but at least I felt I could get pregnant without gaining a lot on top of the 20 pounds...
Well, 6 pounds has crept back and I'm only 11 weeks. I hate feeling fat and I freak out. During my other pregnancies I gained 50 and 60 pounds and my skin was so tight I could hardly bend... I actually got claustrophobic in my own body!!! I'm terrified of that feeling again, so I don't want to gain too much this time around. However, it just seems like whatever I do, my body retains every calorie during pregnancy.
