Just wonder what if anything do you do to simplify your yard and the care of it?

I don't know if this is considered simplifying but i am trying to plant perenials around the yard so i don't have to spend money each year on Annuals and it helps increase the value of the property.

I have a small flower bed area in the front that wraps around the side of the house. It has different things planted in it. I try to plant a few new things each year. We have one tree in the front yard too. I have another area in the back along the garage that is just daylilies. I put groundcover down to cut down on weed. My garden is small, but sufficient for our needs. It also has goundcover for weed control. I have roses along the back fence. Then we have our swingset. They both have groundcover under them.
Groundcover is great to cut back on weeding. I do think we have to many areas that are edged off. We finally had to get a weed eater to do the edging.
Answer:
We are in major construction mode with our yard. Our landscape is old and over grown and has the 3 evils ive, morning glorry and black berries. DH like to do a lot of bulbs, but I think it looks too busy I am tired of our yard alway needing more care and am really looking for simple solutions that are easy to up keep
